The fourth topic – climate change – was presented at a meeting with President L. Rafael Reif. MIT member Sonye Yoon, Ph.D. ’00, turned to talk about the Climate Change Action Plan that Rafe announced in May, which outlines MIT’s role in bringing the world to a zero-emission economy, developing adaptations to mitigate the impacts of change climate and education of the future. Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduates will have to pursue both areas. “This is a serious problem that they have inherited from our generations, and we need to arm them with the tools to figure out how to solve this problem,” Rafe said.
